Advance Care Planning in Canada Today

A Research to Practice Presentation
Co-sponsored by the Institute for Healthy Living and Chronic Disease Prevention, and the North Okanagan Hospice Society

The presentation will focus on the Advance Care Planning Capacity Building project underway to help people prepare for their future needs. There will be a review of the development of the Pan-Canadian Framework and new resources for lawyers and the general public. Advance Care Planning public awareness campaigns and special projects will also be shared.

This is particularly relevant in the COVID-19 pandemic as people will be evaluating their own life and the ‘what if’s’ Associated with COVID-19. “What if’s” are a very uncomfortable place to be and can often add a lot of fear.

This webinar will help people think about their own life and find some tools for talking to others about that their most important wishes are. It will also review the updated Advanced Care Planning tools available in Canada.
